My imported-from-Japan cotton double gauze arrived in the mail Friday. Wow! Check it out. Here’s the right side:
Here’s the wrong side, just a plain white gauze like you’d see in a garment-worthy cheesecloth, if that makes any sense.
Can you see the little dots every 1/2 inch (1.5 cm) or so? That’s the thread that holds the two layers of gauze together. Here’s a close-up:
The fabric is incredibly soft and airy – it has an almost ethereal quality to it. I can just imagine how comfy this will be in the summer. Because of the two layers, I don’t think I’ll need a lining for my dress, Tunic Dress with Lace.
