Yoke-a-Rama with Pinafore Dress

I finished the Pinafore Dress from Happy Homemade Sew Chic a while ago and forgot to write about it. I got a new job and have been pretty busy. I guess I’d rather write than sew sometimes. What with my daily toiling for the Japanese Hippie Doomsday Cult, you gotta have priorities.

Let’s pretend the dress isn’t done, because I wanted to share tips on sewing the yoke. Here’s the pattern description:

I don’t know why this is displaying upside down. Anyway….

The directions don’t make a lot of sense as they’re presented. You kind of need to flip the yokes inside out to get them on right. It also helps to press up the hem that attaches to the dress so it’s easy to get it on.

Here’s the finished yoke.

  1. Sewing and blogging really takes a lot of time, isn’t it? Especially if you wanted to make a really detailed blog post about a project, you have to take photos every step of the way and it can be distracting!
